Our Mission

McDowell Chiropractic Clinic provides the best chiropractic therapies available. We take a holistic approach to your health and well-being as our therapies for musculoskeletal complaints have positive affects on other systems of the body.

Our Services

  • Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (CMT) - or 'adjustment' corrects misalignments in the joint space of the spine or extremity. Therapies are typically delivered by the physicians' hands but newer techniques utilize table-assisted 'drops' and hand-held instruments (refer Activator Methods)
  • Intersegmental Traction (IST) - Table unit with therapeutic rolling action to traction each vertebra, giving relief to stresses and impingements in each joint space. It also gently stretches the ligaments and muscles along the spine and increases blood flow and oxygen to the spine's discs.
  • Ultra Sound (US)- Deep tissue therapy utilizing mechanical vibration at increasing frequencies (also known as sound energy) to heal adhesions or scar tissue.
  • Electric Stimulation - Interferential Current Therapy used to facilitate muscle contraction/relaxation through skin-placed electrodes. The physiological effects include:
    •  an increase in localized blood flow which can improve healing by reducing swelling
    • the stimulation of local nerve cells that can have a pain reducing/anesthetic effect
    • some degree of muscle stimulation
  • Trigger Point Therapy - myofascial trigger points are tiny contraction knots that develop in a muscle when it is injured or overworked. Developed by Janet G. Travell, MD and David G. Simons, MD, TPTherapy helps over-stimulated muscle sarcomeres  release from their interlocked state. 
  • X-ray imaging - diagnostic imaging using electromagnetic waves of short wavelength which create a two-dimensional radiograph. The radiograph assists in the detection of pathology in osseous structures (bones, joint space) and soft tissue.
  • Graston Technique - a patented instrument used for soft tissue mobilization. Used to detect and break down scar tissue or facial restrictions.
